RIVERSIDE SCHOOL HOUSE:

The Riverside School District was established in 1890 with E. Hirn as the first teacher. This one room school served a small area along the Cimarron River. At times, when the river was high, students were considered tardy but not absent when they could not get across. The Riverside School building was built in 1890 with the last class being held in 1927.

The original school has been moved to its new home on the Coronado Museum grounds and restoration plans are in progress to have the school available for future use by students of today.
